Sofia grew up on a small organic farm in Northern California and received her own plot of garden space at the age of 10 to grow her own array of chosen vegetables. An unconventional child, her garden usually consisted of okra, loofah sponges, and black carrots, but the love of gardening, land stewardship, and picking her meals from what she and her family grew created the foundation and passion for a healthy and sustainable way of life. Sofia became a vegetarian at the age of 4, and a vegan in 2006 and has 17 years of experience in the food and wine industry. With an educational background in journalism and art, she opened and ran a contemporary art gallery for several years, but has returned to the culinary field as a personal chef to create exciting, healthy vegan meals for her clients.
With roots seated deeply in the surf and motorcycle worlds, her vision provides a unique and daring firsthand photographic diary of Los Angeles’ beach and street cultures. Her editorial perspective is fueled by a love of fashion, good waves, two wheels and the lifestyle that goes along with it.
